Regardless of the medium – paper, e-ink, digital, stone carving, back of the napkin – they all serve the same purpose.
When I was young, I never understood the joy of reading. To me, it’s a chore. Growing up, I was occupied with slaying monsters, playing and watching football, listening to music. Only nerds read, I concluded.
Flash-forward two decades later, I’m a keen recipient of words. I read everything – books, magazines, RSS feeds, articles posted to social media. I’m stocking piles of unread articles in Instapaper faster than I can finish them, and the thousands of bookmarks saved in Pinboard will be worthwhile to revisit someday.
If you now excuse me, let me work on what to purchase next. The wish list for my Kindle is also stacking up…
