How Pandemics End

As nations start to open up, albeit cautiously, experts are bracing for further waves of infected cases.

Numbers are falling, but they are not by far totally vanquished. How do pandemics actually die out?

To learn how they end is to take a dark trip down history, to understand the extend of the pandemics and how they ended.

I’m intrigued that the so-called end are determined by sociopolitical processes and not medical staffs.

Allan Brandt, a Harvard historian, said an end can occur not because a disease has been vanquished but because people grow tired of panic mode and learn to live with a disease.

6 months in, there is a general weariness to news update. There are only so much we can take in. And with each passing day, it weighs us down.

Our best bet is to get the situation under control, live with the new norm and hope that we get the vaccine out in the shortest, safest time.
