Just learned this. It’s a fine way to assure ourself we worked on something, made progress, yet the job is not entirely done.
Sometimes I get the dreadful feeling of not being able to chuck tasks off the list, because there are more stuffs to do.
With this tip, I’ll (I’d/ I could) be happier and stay on course to continue on unfinished task.

If you can't check off a to-do at the end of the day, but did work on it, rename it to describe what you did.
Then create a new to-do (or to-dos) to describe what's left.
We know the least about what the work is when we first create the to-dos.
