Logos From Bike Scraps

Graphic designer and cyclist Jenny Beatty created 100 pieces of work using bicycle components. Two of my favourites:

Unilever
Why recreate the Unilever logo out of bike parts? Do I have a passionate connection to a Unilever shampoo? Not really, but this company effects hundreds of the brands we interact with on a daily basis. Unilever owns over 400 brands such as Axe, Dove, and Lipton. They are a major player in consumer packaged goods and I’m sure they own a brand or two that relates to cycling.

Adidas
In 1971 the founder of Adidas, Adi Dassler, designed the iconic trefoil logo. As the company spread its business in apparel and leisure industry, he realized the need for a more apt logo design that could demonstrate industrial diversity of his company. After over 100 designs, he transformed the original “three-striped” logo into the “trefoil”. The 3 leaves symbolize the Olympic spirit, linked to the three continental plates as well as the heritage and history of the brand.
